CS @ UW-Madison
As a computer science major at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I have a passion for solving real-world problems and creating value for users with my software engineering and quant trading. I am currently pursuing two concurrent roles that allow me to apply and enhance these skills in different domains and contexts.
In my role as a software engineer intern at Expedia Group, I work on the front-end and back-end development of a marketing tool, where I used React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and MongoDB to design a synchronous UI tool that facilitated real-time creation and preview of market-feed cards for the Vrbo homepage, attracting 400,000+ views and 45,000 clicks with a CTR of 11.25%.
I’ve also had some experiences in quant trading. My first acquaintance with quant trading was working as a quantitative researcher intern at Bopu Assets. There I reseached on level-2 limit order book data and created 15+ useful factors in forecasting Chinese stocks’ future return. I used multi-processing to streamline the computation by 20x and built a trading strategy that had sharpe ratio of 2.
As the current president at Cardinal Trading Group, I led the market research and trading team, where I developed and backtested a sentiment-based trading strategy that generated a 30% annual return, using Google NLP API and EODHD Sentiment API to analyze news data for SP500 stocks. I also conduct weekly quant interview prep workshops to empower club members for future career development.
My goal is to pursue a career in software engineering, data science, or quant, where I can leverage my skills and expertise to contribute to the innovation and growth of the industry. I am actively looking for intern positions that offer me the opportunity to work on challenging and impactful projects, learn from experienced mentors, and expand my network. I am eager to hear from you and discuss how I can add value to your organization.
